Baby's First Flight Packing List

Quick packing list for baby’s first flight (0-6 months):
✨Disinfecting wipes for surfaces + hand sanitizer
- this is a must have for me. If you’re traveling with someone else, ask them to wipe down everything (seats, tray tables, armrests, seatbelts, screens, you name it!) BEFORE you and your baby get to your seats.
✨Extra wipes, diapers, and dirty diaper bags
- The wipes and diapers are a no brainer but the dirty diaper bags have been a lifesaver for me on more than one occasion. Not only will your fellow passengers thank you for sealing up that dirty diaper, you’ll be thanking yourself if you baby has a blow out!
✨ Favorite Book
- My son loves to read but I don’t like to travel with a lot of books as they’re heavy and take up a lot of space so I try to limit it to books that are fun and familiar (the Very Hungry Caterpillar board book is perfect with young babies who may be fascinated by the holes in the pages)
✨ Favorite Toy
- Although it can be a bit noisy, we never travel without this Sophie the giraffe teether. It has been a favorite since my son was a new born and even though he doesn’t play with it as much now that he’s older (we keep it in the diaper bag), it’s still a travel essential for us and he lights up when he sees it.
✨ New Toy
- You don’t need to buy a ton of new toys when flying with a younger baby but I do think it is helpful to have one or two novelties on hand just incase!
✨Extra Bibs
- Even if your baby doesn’t typically wear a bib I would bring them on a flight. Keep their tops as clean and dry as possible. It’s so much easier to change their bib than it is to change their whole outfit.
✨ Extra 2-piece comfy outfit
- My son always wears 2-piece pjs when we travel because they are comfy and easier to change one piece rather than a whole outfit!
✨ Toys and teethers that can’t be dropped!
- Trust me, the less things they can drop, the better!
✨ Cozy Blanket + Nursing Cover
- Planes are always too hot or too cold so best to be prepared
✨Extra clothes for Mom and Dad
- Because you’ll be kicking yourself if you’re the one holding baby during that blow out!
